Your time and efforts are better utilized by working on (and improving) your own content, which is what actually helps with viewer retention. Posts and comments with any kind of self-promotional links / "Come watch me" / *"Help me reach X goal" / "new youtube video" / "Post your links in the comments" are irrelevant to our community. They exist to make our community a better place for all of us.
